About Alwar
The city of Alwar, famous for its idyllic landscapes, is the administrative center of the district of the same name, and was in ancient times the capital of the princely state of Alwar or Ulwar during British India.
The city is located about 160 kilometers south of Delhi and about 150 kilometers north of the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Alwar is at an altitude of about 271 meters and has a population of about 170,000 inhabitants.
In Alwar you can enjoy interesting historical monuments. It is surrounded by a wall, a moat and has a fortress, as well as splendid palaces.
The city has a beautiful lake with a very picturesque valley. The Sariska National Shrine is located in the Aravalli Hills, only a few kilometers from Alwar.

In Alwar a sweet called Milkcake is made, which although it is famous also in other places, it is exported from here to other places. They are also engaged in the preparation of seed oil, porcelain and cotton.
