Tirupati (English Tirupati , Telugu) is a city in Chittur district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. One of the largest cities in the Rayalasima region. Located at the foot of the Eastern Gkhatov at a distance of 550 km to the south of the capital of the state of Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad and 100 km north of Chennai. Tirupati is one of the largest pilgrimage sites in Hinduism. 10 km north-west of Tirupati, on the top of the Tirumala hills at an altitude of 853 meters above sea level, is the Temple of Tirumala Venkateshvara, dedicated to one of the forms of Vishnu - Venkatesvare.
