The state capital of Orissa is famous for its numerous and unique temples, the main of which is considered to be the grandiose Lingaraj, dedicated to Shiva and Vishnu at once, which is rare for India. For Orissa, such a religious fusion, on the contrary, is typical, as in its temples next to the Saiva and Vishnuite symbols on the same walls you can find Buddhist and Jain. Lingaradzh is closed to foreigners, but from the observation deck you can look through the surrounding wall and evaluate the architectural complex.
