Yuksom is a village in West Sikkim, located at an altitude of 1780 m. It is known in history as the first capital of the independent kingdom of Sikkim. The starting point of the popular trekking route with a length of about 90 km, leading to Goech La Pass (Goech La) on the nearest approaches to Kanchendzhang.
