Sarchu is one of the main transit points in the Himalayas on the Leh-Manali highway. It is located at an altitude of 4290 meters, on the border of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh. Since traveling along the Leh-Manali highway usually takes two days, tourists need to make a stop for the night. To this end, they come to Sarchu. Since the highway is closed from October to April due to heavy snow, it is possible to visit the point only from May to September. Sarchu also serves as a starting point for trips to Zanskar.
