Wildlife Sanctuary Periyar or Periyar (Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary) is one of the largest nature reserves and national parks of Kerala, it covers an area of almost 800 sq. Km. Periyar is located in the Western Ghats in the north of Kerala in the region of the Cardamom Mountains. Immediately we must make a reservation that Periyar is the name of the wildlife sanctuary itself, the district center and locality is called Thekkady.
