Pasighat, the oldest town of Arunachal Pradesh. The town was established in 1911 by the British. It is the headquarter of the East Siang district. Due to its 'strategic' situation where the Siang leaves the mountains, Pasighat has been often called the gateway to the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Pasighat is situated on the banks of the river Siang and is at a height of 152 m. from the sea level. It's population is almost 23,000.
