Palakkad (Palghat), surrounded by rice fields, lies on the NH-47 highway between Trichur (79 km) and Coimbatore in Tamilnad (54 km) and on the railway line from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Historic, thanks to the natural 20-kilometer Palakkad Gap (Palakkad Gap) in the Western Ghats, this area was one of the main points through which it was possible to penetrate Kerala. The surroundings are beautiful, but the city itself does not deserve a stop, if only to interrupt the journey for a holiday.
