Pahalgam Mountain resort 100 km south-east of Srinagar. At one time, Pahalgam was the most popular mountain resort in the state of Jammu and Kashmir among Indian tourists. Currently, the popularity of the resort has fallen somewhat, largely due to the not very stable situation in the state and, specifically, in the area. Pahalgam is located on the Lidder River and offers beautiful Himalayan views, hiking in the surrounding area, trekking, rafting, riding a mule and even skiing in the winter.
