Tsomoriri Lake (Tzomoriri, Tso Moriri, map ) is the largest alpine lake in India, 215 km south-east of Leh at an altitude of 4595 m above sea level. The maximum length of the lake is 19 km, the maximum width is 3 km, and the maximum depth is 40 m. The water in the lake is slightly saline. Representatives of the nomadic Khampa people bring their flocks of yaks and sheep to the lake area in the summer.
