Thrissur is not far from Kochi, but not on the coast, but a little inland. At first you thought it was a small town like Hampi, famous for its temple and the annual Puram festival. But then it turned out that it was a big and rather developed city. Kerala in general can surprise you after Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with cleaner streets, an abundance of expensive advertising, a European design, and other necessary institutions. In general, the state looks much more civilized than its neighbors. This is somehow not very combined with the association "communism-scoop", in Kerala it seems that the Communist Party still rules. And in Thrissur, you could be soaped out with the intention of settling in it a week before May 3rd and wait on that day for that same Puram - the spring festival of elephants. The action promised to be grand, they planned to settle closer to the main temple and, possibly, shoot everything from the roof.
